The actors Birgitta Andersson, Siri Hamari and Mikael Samuelsson, the director and theatre manager Tobias Theorell, the artist and composer Thomas ”Orup” Eriksson and the author Klas Östergren all receive the Litteris et Artibus medal from the king. Litteris et Artibus was instituted in 1853 and is awarded to individuals for "outstanding artistic achievements primarily in music, stage performance and literature".

Linus Fellbom becomes the new artistic director for the Folkoperan in Stockholm. Fellbom, who is a lighting designer, director, and set designer, has previously directed "Friskytten" and "Hoffman's Adventures" at the Folkoperan.

The director Tobias Theorell becomes the new artistic opera manager at the Royal Opera in Stockholm. He takes over after Michael Cavanagh, who passed away earlier this year.
