The Trump administration has previously initiated a comprehensive review of eight museums that exist under the Smithsonian umbrella, including the National Portrait Gallery, the National Museum of American History and the National Museum of Natural History. The measure is based on the president's order to remove ”divisive or anti-American ideology”.
