Klas Eriksson tops the listening list of this year's summer speakers. He is already up to one and a half million subsequent listens, says "Sommar's" program manager Bibi Rödöö.

On Sunday, this year's last "Summer" was broadcast on Sveriges Radio and now this year's edition can be summarized. The actor Klas Eriksson's story about his daughter Elsa who died in her mother's womb has struck a chord with many and became the program that in podcast version drew the most listeners this year.

It is a program that has gone straight into the heart of the listeners. Everyone is talking about this and only love, love, love has come to Klas after the program, says Bibi Rödöö.

Locked podcast

On "Summer's" top list, Klas Eriksson is followed by Petra Mede, Peter Haber, Johan Floderus and Messiah Hallberg. The program host who drew the most listeners in the live broadcast was, however, Dragomir Mrsic, followed by Andreas Norlén, Gina Dirawi, Peter Haber and Henrik Berggren.

Since last year, Sveriges Radio has locked in the podcast version of "Summer" in its own app and does not release it to other distributors. Still, listening is increasing.

It is completely incredible. I was myself worried and skeptical about this, because it requires quite a lot that you have to download our app to listen. But they have done so, says Bibi Rödöö.

Rödöö continues

The so-called weekly reach increased by 11 percent to 1.66 million, while 3 million Swedes, 36 percent of the population, have listened to "Summer" in P1 on the radio or digitally at some point.

The work is already underway with "Winter" in P1 around the turn of the year and next year's "Summer". Bibi Rödöö has been responsible for the program since 1997 and will continue in that role.

I still think that this must be the most fun thing to work with, she says.
