Fall TV Highlights: Must-Watch Shows and Series Premieres

Bianca Ingrosso is back in "Wahlgrens värld", Fredrik Skavlan is behind a new form of community program and Netflix is making a tv series of a Swedish romantic success. These are the highlights of the autumn's tv.

Swedish series

Carla Sehn plays the lead role when Amanda Romare's novel "Half of Malmö consists of guys who dumped me" becomes a series (11/9, Netflix). Evin Ahmad and Fares Fares are the stars of the science fiction series "We come in peace" (6/11, TV4 Play), "The Ferry" (26/9, SVT) offers horror based on Mats Strandberg's book. Here, Kolbjörn Skarsgård plays a role.

The Swedes on the Spanish sun coast are in focus in "Where the sun always shines" (10/11, SkyShowtime) with Erik "Jerka" Johansson and Rakel Wärmländer. Joel Spira and Josefin Asplund play a romantic comedy in Dalarna in "Couples therapy in Gagnef" (7/11, SVT).

An "existentially confused comedy series" is made by Hampus Nessvold and Johan Ulveson in "New Noa Nyman" (1/11, SVT) and the classic "We on Saltkråkan" (31/10, SVT) comes in a new version with Henrik Norlén as Uncle Melker.

Reality/entertainment

In the new weekend entertainment "Fortune hotel" (22/8, TV4), the couple with the best strategy wins 1 million kronor. In "The game" (14/9, SVT), celebrities such as ex-Miss Snusk, Håkan Juholt, and Jan Emanuel will compete in a "social game". Incidentally, "The traitors" are back later in the fall (TV4, date not set). As is "Best in test" (TV4, 17/10).

In "Wahlgrens world" (4/9, Kanal 5/HBO Max), Bianca Ingrosso makes a full comeback and in "Age crisis with Keyyo and Johan Rheborg" (24/9, SVT), the joys that come with age are explored.

In new roles

Norwegian Fredrik Skavlan is back with "Skavlan and Sweden" (4/9, SVT), a new way to make social and debate programs. "Sweden's master chef" (24/8, TV4) gets a new role as weekend entertainment on Sundays and news anchor Martin Järborg is the new host in the fall's "Robinson" (2/10, TV4).

Bill Nylander and Marie Olsson Nylander leave SVT and take on a new project in a new channel in "The Italian house dream" (3/9, Kanal 5/HBO Max).

International series

Keeley Hawes is a middle-aged assassin in the British success "The torpedo" (23/8, SVT), Jessica Chastain infiltrates hate groups on the internet in "The savant" (26/9, AppleTV+), and Bill Skarsgård is back as the scary clown Pennywise in "It: Welcome to Derry" (October, HBO Max).

Claire Danes plays the lead role in the crime drama "The beast in me" (13/11, Netflix), Kim Kardashian plays a lawyer in the new drama "All's fair" (Disney+, date not set), and Glen Powell gets to be funny in the comedy series "Chad Powers" (Disney+, date not set).

Here are viewer successes that return in the fall: "Gåsmamman" (3/9, TV4 Play), "Solsidan" (1/10, TV4 Play), "The morning show" (17/9, AppleTv+), "Slow horses" (24/9, AppleTv+), "Nobody wants this" (23/10, Netflix), "Stranger things" (27/11, Netflix), "Fallout" (December, Prime Video), "The diplomat" (date not set, Netflix).
