Summer Olympic Games in Paris are completed. Now the focus is on Paralympics in the same city.
On Tuesday, the Swedish team was finalized.
"I am extremely proud of this Swedish team. It is a powerful team with high medal capacity", says team leader Niclas Grön in a press release.
In total, there are 20 athletes (plus one pilot) distributed across seven sports who are traveling to the French capital. Six of the 20 in the team have previously won Paralympic medals. Nine are making their debut in Paralympics.
"It is gratifying that we have nine debutants who, in the increased international competition, have managed to qualify for Paralympics. They have all the potential to compete already in Paris, but many of them will be at their best in Los Angeles 2028. It will be extremely exciting to follow their performance", says Grön.
Paralympics take place from August 28 to September 8.
