On its website, Rosengård announces that Sjögran is leaving after the season. She has been part of the club for almost 25 years – as a player and later as sports manager. In total, she has been involved in nine Swedish Championship gold medals, the latest of which was secured earlier in October.
But now the 47-year-old is leaving the club.
"Women's football will grow and change enormously in the coming years. I want to be part of that journey and am looking at different opportunities. I will leave a club that I have been extremely proud to represent. But everything has its time and everything good has an end. Now I'm looking forward to new challenges," says Sjögran.
Which new challenge she is referring to is not yet official. But according to The Athletic, Sjögran will become the new football manager at the English top club Manchester City. A club that has been without a football manager on the women's side since June when Nils Nielsen left.
Rosengård has found a replacement. It will be Emelie Lundberg, who is currently the assistant coach for the B-team. She has also worked with the commercial part of the business, writes Rosengård on its website, and is also educated in sports management.
"It's a club that has always impressed me and I'm proud and honored to take over the role as sports manager where Therese Sjögran, together with Erling Nilsson, has built something enormous over the last 10 years," says Lundberg.
