Erik Erlandsson has been struggling with injury problems in the back of one thigh for a few months.
Now it is clear that the 21-year-old 200-meter runner will miss both the Swedish Championship in Kil and Karlstad which begins on Thursday and the World Championship in Tokyo in September.
"I need to end the season much earlier than I thought. It sucks to miss the Swedish Championship, and even worse, the World Championship. But there is not much I can do about it right now", writes Erlandsson on Instagram.
In January, Erlandsson set a Swedish indoor record on 200 meters with a time of 20.43 in Växjö.
