Newborn's Death Sparks Criticism of Two Swedish Hospitals

A newborn baby died from injuries that should have been detected by healthcare. Two hospitals in Karlskrona and Lund are therefore being criticized by the Health and Social Care Inspectorate (Ivo).

The newborn baby could not retain any food and was sent acutely to Lund for surgery, reports P4 Blekinge.

Ivo believes that both hospitals have failed in their actions. Partly, the problems should have been discovered earlier, partly the baby should have been examined more thoroughly. Probably, the repeated surgeries contributed to the baby's death.
