AIK is simply advancing to the third qualifying round in the European Conference League football.
A crushing 6–0 win (8–0 total) means that the team will now have to travel to Hungary in the next round.
The first half became a cavalcade – of own goals.
1–0 came after Mads Thychosen drove down along the edge and hit the ball diagonally backwards. Via two Paide defenders, the ball ended up in the goal behind a disappointed away goalkeeper.
Just over ten minutes later, AIK extended their lead. This time it was Anton Salétros who shot and after new unfortunate deflections by two Paide players, the ball went in to 2–0.
Before the half-time break, AIK also managed a third goal. Johan Hove pressed the ball in via another deflection by Paide's defense.
The first half is fine, three goals, we attack a lot. We have control so we should continue in the second half. We should score more goals, said AIK's Erik Flataker to Expressen's broadcast at half-time.
The goal party continued in the second half. Anton Salétros set 4–0 safely from the penalty spot and shortly afterwards, Johan Hove increased to 5–0.
With a quarter of the match left, Salétros established the final result at 6–0 and 8–0 overall in the double meeting.
Two-goal scorer Anton Salétros was pleased with the team's performance but still toned down the goal party somewhat.
We meet a slightly weaker opponent. We should not be too happy. We have good players but it's about going out and having confidence in what we do. We haven't had that in recent weeks.
Now, Hungarian Györi Eto is waiting in the next qualifying round, who knocked out Pyunik from Armenia earlier during the Thursday evening.
