The train just keeps going for David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig. In the world championship in the Czech Republic, the Swedish beach volleyball duo started with two new wins.
First, they defeated the Americans Miles Partain and Andy Benesh in two straight sets (21–13, 21–19) and a few hours later, they repeated the feat against Germany's Nils Ehlers and Clemens Wickler (21–17, 21–18).
Åhman and Hellvig have won both world championships they have competed in 2024, in Mexico and Portugal. Swedes have climbed the world rankings this spring and will be one of the big blue-yellow medal hopes in the summer's OS in Paris.
The Swedes will wrap up the group stage on Friday with a match against Poland's Piotr Kantor and Jakub Zdybek, but are already qualified for the playoffs.
