The Swedish krona is going strong and is up 3.54 percent against the US dollar this year. A dollar cost 10.69 kronor on Sunday.
And that makes the Swedish krona the best-performing G10 currency so far this year. The G10 currencies – which are actually eleven – are the world's most traded.
Other currencies that are performing strongly in the G10 group this year are the Japanese yen and the Australian dollar, up 3.21 and 2.65 percent respectively against the US dollar.
Among others, the British pound and the Swiss franc are considered to have underperformed. They are up 0.56 and 0.84 percent respectively.
