The Swedish football referee Tess Olofsson will referee the women's OS final between the USA and Brazil on Saturday. The Swedish assistant referee Almira Spahic is also part of the final's referee team.

"It's so powerful and well-deserved! Tess and Almira have done so incredibly well throughout the entire championship and now they get the clearest acknowledgement a referee can get when they are assigned a championship final", says Pernilla Larsson, elite coach women at the Swedish Football Association, in a press release.

The duo has previously refereed the women's OS premiere Canada–New Zealand, the men's match USA–Guinea in the group stage, and the women's quarterfinal between Japan and the USA in France.

Glenn Nyberg has also refereed several matches in the OS. He refereed, for example, the men's premiere between Argentina and Morocco and a quarterfinal. He also had to step in as the main referee in the OS semifinal between Spain and Morocco when the regular referee was injured early in the match.
