Abdulkadir Mumin was born in Somalia and lived in Gothenburg during the 1990s and early 2000s. He is said to have been radicalized through the Bellevue Mosque in Gothenburg.
According to Magnus Ranstorp, lecturer in political science and terrorism researcher at the Defence University, Mumin has a salafist-jihadist mindset.
The Security Service says it cannot answer questions about individual persons or cases.
"In general, we can say that for the Security Service, it is not interesting whether an opinion in itself is extreme or radical". Furthermore, the Security Service writes that "our task is to assess and intervene against a person's intention and ability to commit crimes".
According to the Security Service, the primary terrorist threat to Sweden comes from "actors who act based on a violent Islamist or violent right-wing extremist motive". "In a broad perspective", the Security Service prioritizes both these environments, it says in the email to TT.
