The Moderate Party says no to the idea of reintroducing landmines and cluster munitions in the Swedish defense.
"There is currently no process in The Moderate Party to reconsider the view on troop-mines and cluster munitions. Sweden stands behind the Ottawa Convention and the Cluster Convention", writes Jörgen Berglund (M), member of the Riksdag's Defense Committee, in a text message to Sveriges Radio Ekot.
The Christian Democrats and the Sweden Democrats have opened up to allowing landmines, citing the security threat from Russia. Troop-mines are a type of landmine.
The two parties have also stated that it is not ruled out to review the ban on cluster munitions.
The Liberals have declined to comment on the issue.
