SMHI has issued a yellow warning for severe thunderstorms on Thursday evening in parts of southern and central Norrland.
The warning applies from 16:00 on Thursday until 01:00. The thunderstorm means a risk of many lightning strikes and heavy rain, which can cause flooding or fires. There is also a risk of large hail and very strong winds.
The warning affects parts of Jämtland County and northern Västernorrland as well as large parts of Västerbotten County and eastern Norrbotten County. However, there is great uncertainty about exactly where in these areas the thunderstorm will form, writes SMHI.
