The young woman who was subjected to honor killing in Lessebo last May had before her death reported to the police that she had been raped by her father. The police officers did not file a report of rape and now they have been served suspicion of misconduct, reports SVT News Småland.
The police officers deny the crime.
The woman did not want to make a report herself. But according to the law, police officers must report suspected crimes that they become aware of, even if the victim does not want to cooperate.
The woman's father and brother have been convicted of murder and serious desecration of a grave – the father to life imprisonment and the brother to 16 years in prison. According to Växjö district court, it was an honor killing.
