The Jamaican sprint legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce missed Saturday's semifinal in the women's 100 meters at the Olympic Games in Paris due to an injury she sustained during warm-up. Now she thanks her fans for their support in a post on social media.
"It's hard for me to find the words to describe my disappointment. I know that my fans share and bear this disappointment with me", writes Fraser-Pryce, who has taken a medal in the 100 meters in four consecutive Olympic Games.
"The support from my fans, my country and the larger community has given me an immense gratitude that has followed me throughout my entire career", she writes further.
"Thanks for continuing to be on my side today and every day".
