The border control at Sweden's internal border is being extended for another six months, from November 12 to May 11, 2025, writes the government in a press release.
The government motivates the decision by stating that there is a "serious threat to public order and internal security". They refer to violent incidents with suspected links to both terrorism and cross-border organized crime.
The threat picture is "both serious and complex", writes the government. The terrorist threat level is at level four on a five-point scale.
