The Hockeyallsvenska association is launching a campaign on its website called "Boosta Mora IK" and is appealing for money.
Mora entered the season with a deficit of around five million kronor. A reorganization was recently carried out, which included layoffs as part of the effort to rectify the economy.
"Doing what we can"
The club is in great need of money and every swished krona is welcome, notes club manager Johan Strömwall.
It's hard to turn around such a negative trend in such a short time. We're doing what we can and fighting on. We'll have to make budget cuts and other unpleasant things.
The collection is extremely important for the economy. The goal is to get a boost. We believe and hear that many are willing to help out. We believe we can do something really good together, says Strömwall.
On the ice, things are still tough. Shortly after the campaign was announced, the fourth consecutive loss came – 0–3 at home against Tingsryd.
SSK offered a goal fest
Södertälje crushed Oskarshamn 10–3 in tonight's top match. At home, SSK went on a direct knock. 5–1 after the first period said it all about the immediate release.
Egor Polin (2+1) and Nicolai Meyer (1+2) each scored three points.
Oskarshamn didn't seem to get anything going in the break. SSK immediately made it 6–1 and 7–1. That was enough. Double reductions followed within four minutes of the middle period.
But Oskarshamn didn't get any closer.
Before the match was over, Polin managed to score a hat-trick, while Meyer added two more assists.
