Marius Borg Høiby, son of Norway's Crown Princess Mette-Marit, is subject to a restraining order against a woman he is suspected of having assaulted.

The ban on visits applies until March 2025, according to the woman's lawyer.

It has been deemed necessary, but I have no further comments, says lawyer Mette Yvonne Larsen to the newspaper Aftenposten.

Høiby is accused of, and has admitted to, assaulting his girlfriend. He is also being investigated for a number of other crimes, including threats, vandalism, theft of an electric scooter, and assault of two previous girlfriends.

The 27-year-old, who is Mette-Marit's son from a previous relationship, has stated in a written statement to the press that he has problems with drugs and alcohol.
