Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had promised to open champagne bottles if Donald Trump won the US presidential election. But since he was at a meeting in Kyrgyzstan at the time, it was a different drink instead.
We made do with vodka, Orbán told the press conference after Thursday's EPC summit in Budapest.
Albania's Prime Minister Edi Rama also participated in the press conference. The Albanian, who will host the next EPC summit in the spring, elicited several laughs by, among other things, calling France's President Emmanuel Macron "his majesty" and teasing the host Orbán about his many conflicts with other EU leaders.
It has been special to see all of Europe gathered here in the fold with its black sheep, said Rama.
