Russia reports that the country's forces in eastern Ukraine have captured the two villages of Sredneje and Kleban-Byk in the Donetsk region.
Russia has slowly advanced in the region in recent times and is getting closer to Ukraine's main defense lines.
At the same time, peace talks between Ukraine and Russia still seem to be a long way off. The President of the USA, Donald Trump, has described a meeting between Russia's President Vladimir Putin and Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyj as the next step towards putting an end to Russia's invasion war.
But there are no signs that such a meeting is imminent.
