Lamine Dieng fell in love with a Swede and left his home country Senegal to move to Sweden at the age of 25. In Dakar, he had been, among other things, a bank clerk, pop singer, and comic book artist – in Sweden, he became a frequently hired actor.
In film, Lamine Dieng could be seen in several Beck films, but also in "The Way Out", "Santa is the Father of All Children", and "Popular Music from Vittula".
Between 1989 and 1993, Dieng was engaged at Helsingborg City Theatre, and he also performed at city theatres in Stockholm and Gothenburg, as well as on tour with the National Touring Theatre. At the Royal Dramatic Theatre, he participated, among other things, in "A Dream Play" in 2007. In 1999, Lamine Dieng was the summer host on Swedish Radio.
