It was in connection with a routine check on the Öresund Bridge on Saturday afternoon that the police found several automatic weapons in a taxi on its way to Skåne. In the car sat a 15-year-old boy who also had two pistols and a hand grenade with him.
Later, a 20-year-old man was also arrested, suspected of involvement in the arms smuggling. The 20-year-old has now been detained on probable grounds, suspected of gross arms smuggling.
Now, a comprehensive international cooperation is being initiated to bring those involved to justice.
We foresee that we will have international contacts in the case, says Måns Björklund, Deputy Chief Prosecutor at the National Unit against International Organized Crime.
