They are to a high degree in line with what the association has requested, says Chairperson Anna Olskog.

She is also positive towards the proposals for changes in the content of the education, where more focus should be placed on practical methodology and reading and writing instruction.

Another good part is that the investigation highlights the need for strengthened financing, says Anna Olskog.

So far, teacher education has been underfinanced. Without sustainable and long-term financing, these proposals will only be a shot in the air.

If the investigation's proposals become a reality, they will not be enough to address all the problems that exist in school, according to Anna Olskog.

This is one piece of the puzzle in the whole.

The investigation will now go out for consultation.

We need to consider the consequences of stricter eligibility requirements and how they will affect the educational institutions and student volumes. It is extremely important that the implementation is done in a responsible manner.
