The trade companies' future expectations in the consumer goods trade, daily goods trade, and wholesale trade fell in March, shows the Swedish Trade's Trade Barometer.
For more than three years, the trade companies have been pessimistic about future sales, number of employees, and profitability. Swedish Trade writes in a press release that it is the longest gloomy trend noted in the barometer's history.
The future confidence in both the consumer goods trade and daily goods trade is plummeting in this month's measurement. The former by -3.0 units, resulting in an indicator value of 89.9, and the latter by -4.6 units, which means an indicator value of 92.0, according to a press release.
"Swedish trade is having an extremely tough time right now. There is no doubt that companies and jobs all over the country, in both larger and smaller cities, are now at stake", says Sofia Larsen, CEO of Swedish Trade, in the press release.
