Medal candidates Isac von Krusenstierna and August Mollén both come from the sprint-VM in orienteering in Edinburgh on July 12-16. Mollén, who took a VM silver two years ago, does not get a spot in the Swedish team at all, while von Krusenstierna follows as a reserve.

"I'm afraid I have to leave runners outside the team that I think could take a medal. It's hard to get a spot in the Swedish team and right now it's harder on the men's side," says Sweden's national coach Kalle Dalin in a press release.

The Swedish team, women: Tove Alexandersson (individual, knockout, relay), Sara Hagström (individual), Hanna Lundberg (individual, knockout, relay), Karolin Ohlsson (individual, knockout), Alva Sonesson (knockout).

Men: Gustav Bergman (individual), Martin Regborn (individual, knockout, relay), Emil Svensk (individual, knockout, relay), Jonatan Gustafsson (knockout).
