The Swedish team in the team World Championship in speedway, consisting of Fredrik Lindgren and Jacob Thorssell, is ready for the final.
The duo withstood the pressure and won their semifinal in Manchester, ahead of six other teams. Including Poland, with star Bartosz Zmarzlik in the team.
But it all ended quite dramatically.
In the last heat, Sweden only needed three points against Ukraine, which they seemed to secure. But a bit into the heat, Thorssell was hit from behind by Stanislav Melnytjuk, resulting in a dramatic crash.
After treatment on the track, the Swede could give a thumbs up and get ready for the restart. But then it was time for the next Ukrainian, Marko Levishyn, to crash.
Instead, Sweden avoided running the lap and got the maximum seven points, which was enough for a total win in the semifinal.
The final takes place on Saturday.
