On social media, several people reacted strongly to Olle Palmlöf speaking slurred and allegedly being intoxicated. According to Expressen, Palmlöf directly after the broadcast said that he "had been drinking liquor".

In a comment to the media, SVT writes that they have "zero tolerance for alcohol on the job" and "take the incident seriously". Furthermore, SVT writes:

"We also want to extend a special apology to the people who were interviewed at the time."

In a brief interview with Aftonbladet, Olle Palmlöf denies being intoxicated.

That wasn't me, he says to the newspaper.

On the follow-up question about whether he has any explanation for why it was perceived that way, he answers:

No.

Stephan Rimér, CEO of the production company responsible for the broadcast, apologizes for what happened and says that they are evaluating whether they could have done something differently.

Exactly what we should have done and not done, I can't quite answer, I can only conclude that the end result is not good. It becomes inappropriate in several ways, he says to Vecko-Revyn.
