Hannes Björninen's main tackle on Jonathan Dahlén was so bad that the Timrå star was forced to leave Saturday's SHL match. Now the Örebro player is suspended for four matches and is also fined by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association's disciplinary committee.

The committee motivates the judgment by stating that it was a "late tackle, after the goal, on a player in a defenseless position", that the tackle was made from the "blind side" and that there was a great risk of injury.

Dahlén, who was selected for Tre Kronor for next week's Karjala tournament, scored the 1-0 goal in the situation but then had to be helped off the ice. Björninen was given a match penalty.

The team's doctor, Christian Rydin, could not provide any clear information about Dahlén's injury after the match.

"We will examine him more closely tomorrow morning. At present, we cannot provide more information", he wrote to Sundsvalls Tidning on Saturday evening.

It is already clear, in any case, that Jonathan Dahlén will miss the Karjala tournament. Tre Kronor has announced that he will be replaced, just like Pär Lindholm and Joakim Nygård. The trio that will simultaneously join the squad are Filip Cederqvist, Frölunda, Oskar Lang, Leksand, and Dennis Rasmussen, Växjö.
