The Swedish music market continues to grow. Last year, sales increased by 6 percent and a total of more than 2.2 billion kronor worth of music was sold.
Audio streaming increased by 8 percent and now accounts for 91 percent of the total market value.
"Since no major price changes were made on the market during the year, it is primarily more users that are the explanation," says Ludvig Werner, CEO of the industry organization Ifpi Sweden, in a press release.
Physical sales account for 5 percent. Both CD and vinyl sales decreased by 12 and 4 percent, respectively, during the year.
The three best-selling Swedish singles in 2024 were Hooja & Miriam Bryant's "Vem fan e du?" followed by Humlan Djojj & Josefine Götestam's "Djurens vaggvisa" and Bolaget & Victor Leksell's "Låt mig va".
