Among the stocks traded on the OMXS30 list with the highest turnover were the defensive ones, i.e. those that usually perform well in times of market uncertainty. These included telecom operators Tele2 and Telia, which rose 2.3 and 1.3 percent, respectively.

The four major banks also saw an increase, with Nordea performing the best at plus 0.9 percent.

Defense contractor Saab broke the upward trend earlier in the week, and quite significantly – the stock fell 4.2 percent. Investment company Kinnevik and heat pump manufacturer Nibe also had a bad day, with minus 3.3 and 2.1 percent, respectively.

On the leading European exchanges, Frankfurt and Paris saw losses, while London traded around zero at the close in Stockholm.

On Wall Street in New York, all three major indices fell. The American stock market has had a tough week following President Donald Trump's fluctuating tariff announcements.

The Swedish krona continues to strengthen against the dollar. One dollar now costs 10.08 kronor and one euro 10.93 kronor.

Overall, the Stockholm stock exchange has fallen 1.2 percent this week.
