Media Investments Drop 2.9 Percent This Summer

Media investments decreased by a total of 2.9 percent in June and July compared to the same period last year, according to statistics from the industry organization Sveriges mediebyråer.

Toughest was it for magazines where media investments decreased by 20 percent, followed by TV which lost 19 percent.

For daily press, advertising decreased by 13 percent and radio lost 2.6 percent.

Better was it for the media category podcast where media investments increased by 65 percent compared to the same period last year. But that figure should be viewed with some caution, writes Sveriges mediebyråer in a press release, since the category was introduced for the first time last year.

In total, media investments of 1.8 billion were made during June and July.
