The coastal stations where spring temperatures have been measured are Måseskär and Vinga on the west coast, as well as Utklippan outside Blekinge, which P4 Jönköping was the first to report.
It is confirmed in retrospect after seven consecutive days of spring temperatures, so as late as Sunday evening it was confirmed that spring arrived at these stations on February 17, says meteorologist Emma Härenstam to TT.
Weather-wise, plus degrees are expected in large parts of the country this week. This means that for example Göteborg, Stockholm, and Malmö will officially enter spring within a few days.
We have had spring temperatures in large parts of Götaland and Svealand since Friday. So it is highly likely that it is spring there right now, but it will be confirmed late Thursday evening. For Skåne in general, it is roughly the same, says Emma Härenstam.
However, spring will arrive later in the northernmost parts of the country.
There are mountain stations up in Lapland where spring normally arrives as late as the end of May, says Emma Härenstam.
If the daily mean temperature is above 0 degrees but below 10, it is called a day with spring temperatures. If this occurs for seven consecutive days, it is counted as spring arriving on the first day. Even if the temperature drops afterwards, it will still be counted as spring.
