The Spanish captain Álvaro Morata and Spanish star Rodri were suspended for a national team match after singing "Gibraltar is Spanish" during the European Championship gold celebration in Madrid.
The Gibraltar Football Association reported the stars to the European Football Association (Uefa), which, after an investigation, punished the Spaniards for inappropriate behavior, for manifesting something other than football, and for putting football and Uefa in a bad light, writes Uefa in its decision.
Gibraltar, on the southern tip of Spain, has been a British territory for over 300 years, with a population of around 35,000 people. Spain has long demanded to get back Gibraltar.
