The Chinese fashion company Shein is on its way to the stock exchange, but not the New York- but the London Stock Exchange.
Sources, including CNBC, report that the company has secretly applied for a stock exchange listing in London after encountering resistance from the American side regarding a potential listing.
Shein, founded in China but with its headquarters in Singapore since 2021, has grown into one of the world's largest fashion companies with low prices and an extensive range. At the same time, it has also been questioned and criticised from several quarters, including for the company's environmental impact and working conditions, with reports of forced labour.
