Stockholm Stock Exchange Opens Higher as OMXS Index Gains 0.5%

The Stockholm stock exchange begins the last day of the trading week on the plus side. After a few minutes, the broad OMXS index is up 0,5 percent.

The rise is broad and strongest on the large-cap list OMSX30 opens the mining company Boliden, plus 2.4 percent. Also going up is the heat pump manufacturer Nibe, plus 1.7, and the construction company Skanska, up 1.0 percent.

During the night and morning, the development on the leading exchanges in Asia has been mixed. In Japan, the Tokyo Nikkei 225 index is up 2.0 percent after Japanese GDP came in better than expected.

During the night, figures from China have also been released, showing that the country's economy is slowing down. Industrial production and retail sales show their weakest growth so far this year, writes bank SEB in its morning news letter. The stock markets' response to the statistics is mixed. In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng index is up 1.4 percent and Shanghai's composite index is up 0.8 percent.

Wall Street began Thursday's trading on red after new surprisingly high producer prices were presented – but closed later unchanged.

Bitcoin has fallen back somewhat during the night and morning from yesterday's record level of 124,000 dollars and costs 119,145 dollars on Friday morning.

A dollar costs 9.56 kronor and a euro costs 11.16 kronor.
