On the large company list OMXS30, the defense group Saab took a big step up and closed at a plus of 4.2 percent.

It went up for Nordea as well, plus 2.4 percent, and the construction company Skanska which was up 2 percent.

Wednesday's drama surrounding the online casino company Evolution, which has been accused of illegal gaming activities, seems to have blown over somewhat. After yesterday's decline of over 8 percent, the share was up 1.7 percent at Thursday's close.

Thursday's losers among the heavyweights were the forest company SCA and the measurement technology company Hexagon, both down 1.6 percent, and the clothing giant H&M which fell back 1.4 percent.

The development on the leading European stock exchanges was in line with Stockholm's.

Wall Street is falling – after several days of rises and new records – since producer prices in the US rose significantly more than expected in July.

During the night, the cryptocurrency Bitcoin reached a new record level when it briefly exceeded $124,000 in the wake of favorable American legislation.

A dollar costs 9.59 kronor on Thursday and a euro 11.17 kronor.
