Serbia's football association is furious after hateful chants were sung during Wednesday's European Championship group stage match between Croatia and Albania (2–2) in Hamburg.
What happened is scandalous and we will demand punishment from Uefa (European Football Association), even if it means we cannot continue in the tournament, says general secretary Jovan Surbatovic according to AP.
The reaction comes after Croatian and Albanian fans together chanted "Kill the Serbs" during the second half of the match, according to the Serbian TV channel. It is unclear what punishment Croatia and Albania may face.
If Uefa does not punish them, we will consider how to proceed, says Surbatovic.
Uefa has not yet commented on the events.
Earlier in the tournament, both Serbia's and Albania's football associations were fined over 100 000 kronor after fans of both countries displayed nationalist banners in the stands.
