Just before Sunday's match, a group of Brøndby fans launched an attack on the away section.
The supporters stormed down towards the sideline and, according to bt.dk, on site, they attacked the away section with Bengal fire. FCK's supporters responded by throwing rockets, and when the police tried to intervene, they were also attacked with rockets and Bengal fire.
Denmark's Justice Minister Peter Hummelgaard does not mince words about what happened.
It is completely unacceptable, a shame for football. It cannot continue like this, he says according to Ritzau.
The clubs are simply forced to take greater responsibility and ensure that their supporters behave on the arena.
Hummelgaard says that a political decision may be to let the police close the away stand.
For I doubt that the clubs can solve it themselves.
The match started about 20 minutes late and ended 0–0.
The league association later announced that it has been decided that there will be no away supporters in the stands when Brøndby and FC Copenhagen meet again.
