The songwriters Stina Jadelius-Engelbrecht and Mårten Eriksson will receive the prize in the final of Melodifestivalen at the Stawberry arena on Saturday. Then, the group Medina will also perform a completely new version of the song.
"Through fire and water" only came sixth in Melodifestivalen 2003, but has since become a cult song performed in various contexts, not least on football stands. The original has been streamed over 36 million times on Spotify and the song has also been recorded in a number of different cover versions.
"You don't have to win Melodifestivalen to win a place in the Swedish people's hearts, 'Through fire and water' is an excellent example of that," says Christer Björkman, honorary chairman of the Hall of Fame committee in a press release.
