A woman has been arrested and charged in Denmark suspected of facilitating Russian espionage, writes DR.
She is suspected of having facilitated a foreign intelligence service to operate in Denmark and of having collaborated with Russia to conduct influence work, according to the Danish police's intelligence service.
The woman, who is a Russian citizen, is a central figure in the Russian community in Denmark, according to DR.
She runs, among other things, a consultancy firm for Russian speakers in a town on Zealand and is said to have received money from a Russian state fund over several years, according to information obtained by DR.
"The case is related to a story in several European media outlets about a Russian state fund and is not related to the European Parliament election that has just concluded", the police say in a comment.
