The attack is said to have taken place in the port city of Yuzhne in southwestern Ukraine, near Odessa. Ukraine's military confirms that two Russian Iskander missiles were fired from Russia, but does not comment on where they landed.
Patriot is an American air defense system used for defensive purposes against air attacks. The missiles have a range of 70 kilometers and can reach an altitude of over 23 kilometers.
During the night, a Ukrainian drone attack caused a fire in a Russian ammunition depot, according to local authorities, citing the AFP news agency.
On Telegram, the governor of the Voronezh region, Aleksandr Gusev, writes that several Ukrainian drones were shot down by Russian air defense during the night, and that the downed parts caused the fire in the depot.
