Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyj has denied a visit from the UN Secretary-General António Guterres to Ukraine, according to a high-ranking source at the Ukrainian presidential administration for AFP.
Guterres was denied a visit to the country since he participated in the Brics meeting held by Russia.
"After Kazan, he (Guterres) wanted to come to Ukraine, but the President did not confirm his visit. So Guterres will not come here", the source says.
The Brics countries have held a summit in the Russian city of Kazan this week, where Russia's President Vladimir Putin acted as host. The Brics association largely consists of dictatorships or countries with deficient democracy.
Guterres' visit to Russia has previously been criticized by Ukraine's Foreign Ministry.
