It will require at least 53 billion dollars, approximately 575 billion kronor, to rebuild Gaza.
The calculation comes from the UN's development program UNDP, which states that 20 billion dollars are needed over the next three years to avoid an acute humanitarian crisis.
"The initial calculation only provides a first indication of the enormous scope of recovery and reconstruction required in the Gaza Strip", writes the UN Secretary-General António Guterres, and simultaneously notes that limited access to information and accessibility make the calculation highly preliminary.
