Asia's leading stock exchanges started the week with a cheerful mood as investors await the outcome of the US presidential election.
In South Korea, the Kospi index had climbed 1.6 percent after a few hours, setting a positive tone.
Similar upbeat notes were heard from Shenzhen's composite index, which grew by 1.4 percent. The composite index in Shanghai also showed optimism, increasing by 0.5 percent.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng index, on the other hand, joined the more cautious group, adding a modest 0.1 percent.
In Tokyo, the stock exchange is closed due to a public holiday.
