A wolf that has been behind several incidents in and around Malmköping in Södermanland recently is to be shot. The County Administrative Board has decided on protective hunting, reports SVT Sörmland.
The decision was made on Tuesday morning. It will take effect immediately, but the hunt will not begin until certain preparations have been made.
It's important that we find the right individual, says Markus Södling, predator handler at the County Administrative Board in Södermanland, to SVT.
The wolf is believed to have killed sheep and a goat in the area. A school in Malmköping previously cancelled outdoor activities this fall after a wolf was spotted in the vicinity.
