The prosecutor has dropped the preliminary investigation into the powerful explosion at the sugar refinery in Örtofta north of Lund a year ago.
The Work Environment Authority reported the owner Nordic Sugar to the police because the authority believed that the company had not fulfilled its obligations regarding the work environment.
However, the prosecutor has come to the conclusion that no one was exposed to any concrete danger during the explosion, reports Skånska Dagbladet. He describes it as an "enormous stroke of luck in bad luck".
Even though it exploded as terribly as it did, with objects flying off in all directions, it was so lucky that no one risked getting hit at that particular moment, says prosecutor Klas Norelius to the newspaper.
