145 Kallinge residents who have ingested PFAS through their drinking water are demanding 100,000 kronor each in compensation from the Defence Forces. The drinking water in Kallinge was contaminated when PFAS-containing firefighting foam was used by F17.
"The claims are based on the European Convention on Human Rights", writes the PFAS Association, which represents those affected, in a press release.
Claims for compensation will also be made against the municipal water company in Ronneby.
The Supreme Court has found that high levels of PFAS in the blood can be seen as personal injury and that it should therefore be possible to seek damages if the cause is contaminated drinking water.
