The Danish students who experienced discomfort in the form of burning eyes have likely been exposed to UV radiation, according to the Danish police.
The police cordoned off the University Park in Århus during the morning after students experienced symptoms after spending time in two buildings at Århus University.
In total, around 20 students experienced discomfort in the form of burning eyes and skin rash, but no one was seriously injured.
The Danish police currently believe that they have been affected by "welder's eye" due to UV radiation. It is uncomfortable, but not dangerous, the police emphasize. The symptoms normally disappear after one to two days.
The students had been in the buildings on Monday afternoon and evening. The police received a report on Tuesday night. The cordons around the University Park were lifted on Tuesday afternoon.
